Erich was great! We’ve done a bunch of food tours around Europe and this was by far our favorite one. The food was all delicious and Erich had a great knowledge of everything including the history of the area. Highly recommend.

As the only fully vegetarian person in our group, Erich did an absolutely fantastic job catering to my needs. It was such a treat to have these delicious dishes hand picked for us and he was so much fun! We learned a lot about the Basque cuisine which we wouldn’t have without him- 10/10 would fully recommend 😁


Erich was a brilliant host. He gave us the background to Basque cuisine and took us to some of the best places in San Sebastián. Lots of fantastic food and drinks, all described by Erich at just the right pace. Strongly recommend.

We had a great time touring the town with Erich. He gave great details and info on the Basque Country and knew everything about food. Every stop on the tour was excellent; the food was marvelous, and everything was paired perfectly with drinks. Definitely would recommend Pot Luck Food Tours!

Erich was very informative about Basque cuisine and choose great spots for Pinxtos. The next day we returned to Antonio Boulevard at lunch.i would definitely recommend his tour.

Erich is such a wonderful tour guide! I couldn’t imagine a better person with whom to explore all pintxo realities across San Sebastian. A true spirit of knowledgeable and lived experiences, camaraderie, humour, food professionalism and sincerity that really set up the tour from the start! and when it came to pintxos, it was like seeing a concert. From the heartiest to the most elevated combinations, Erich was incredible at every turn. From walking us around, to placing us in context and with reservations in the most busiest of places that you would have already thought it was inaccessible, to bringing out in question of seconds the best selection you could imagine. Five stars, would highly recommend and can’t wait to repeat it!

We had a wonderful time with Erich exploring and learning about San Sebastian and the Basque culture on our Pintox tour. Erich is kind, engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to some amazing bars (2 of which we re-visited more than once in the few remaining days we had left after the tour) We tried things we would never have been brave enough to order ourselves and Erich was able to accommodate for dietary requirements of our group. He shared so many great suggestions of places to eat and even sent me the famous Basque Cheesecake recipe. I would highly recommend you book this tour.

We had the best time ever with Erich. He showed us the best places in the city. His knowledge about food and Donosti were incredible. Not only does he know everything there is to know about gastronomy but also his wit and kindness are more that you can ask for. Best time ever! If we ever go back to San Sebastián we definitely would book another tour with him.I highly recommend it.

About Erich
I’m a chef and gastronomic researcher based in San Sebastián. I first came here 20 years ago as an apprentice at Mugaritz, where I fell in love with the city’s pintxos and its food culture. Since then, I’ve worked in Michelin-starred kitchens, and today I lead food tours, create culinary content, and conduct research at the Basque Culinary Center. This isn’t a side project—it’s the result of years immersed in kitchens, culture, and the streets of this city. I build each experience the way I’d guide a friend: honest food, real context, no tourist traps. If you care about what’s on the plate and the story behind it, you’re in the right place.
